Findings Ways to Save While You Shave

Findings Ways to Save While You ShaveShaving can be an expensive process. While razors themselves can be cheap razor blades are individually expensive and the whole process of buying shaving sets, aftershave, razor blades, and shaving cream all adds up. There are ways to save money on the shaving process and this article will point out some of the ways in which you can save money shaving.

To start with, going back to the older methods of shaving is one option. Straight edge razors were common and the blades used were sharpened and reused many times thereby eliminating many of the costs associated with shaving. However, there is a reason why the newer blades are called safety edge razors and great care and skill is needed to use older straight edge razors. Be careful as you can cut yourself.

Disposable razors can be bought in bulk and there are ways to save a lot of money in the process. While deals are available with disposable razors, the quality of these blades is generally inferior and they may cause irritation to your skin as a result. Plus, using disposable razors is not all that environmentally friendly.

Electric razors provide an option that can help you save and once you front up the large contribution of money to purchase the electric razor itself. On some of the newer models the blades are self-sharpening and save a lot of money as a result. Having said that, electric razors are one of those products that people either seem to love or to hate. For some users, electric razors cause skin irritation and pimples. Further, some people say that they are unable to get a close shave with an electric razor and prefer not to use them.

Luxury razors and blades are another option. While luxury razor blades do not seem synonymous with saving money, the luxury razor I bought from The Art of Shaving saved me significant amount of money in the long run. Not only was the upfront cost of purchasing the razor covered by the longer period of time that the blade lasted, but the razor made for a more comfortable shave overall. This razor also cut closer than other models I used which, guess what, reduced the number of times I had to shave. I was able to extend my shaving to every third day from every second and therefore extend the life of the blades I was using. In this instance, I saved money by purchasing a more expensive razor blade from The Art of Shaving.

As with most things, your individual experiences will vary. I felt as if I saved money with a more expensive luxury razor blade but others may prefer the ease of using an electric razor. Test out various models and see which fit your lifestyle.
